Mr. Tint brings a distinguished investment track record to the Fund from his successful experience in quantitative risk analysis and investment research.

Mr. Tint is concurrently chairman of Quantal International, a Berkeley, California-based provider of leading risk analysis tools and investment management products for institutions and advisors worldwide. Before joining Quantal, Mr. Tint was CEO of StraightThrough, Inc., a financial services firm delivering B-2-B data processing and business process outsourcing services to financial service companies.

Prior to his tenure at StraightThrough, Mr. Tint was vice-chairman, managing director and member of the management committee of Barclays Global Investor. He was responsible for managing all client-facing activity as well as global coordination of BGI’s extensive fund activities. He served on the firm’s 10 member management committee responsible for making all of BGI’s major business decisions. He held, at various times, titles of CIO, asset allocation strategies, COO, U.S. business unit and CEO, Americas.

Before joining Barclays, Mr. Tint, along with 1990 Nobel Laureate in Economics William F. Sharpe, founded Sharpe – Tint, Inc. an investment management and consulting firm. The firm developed an innovative technology solution for investment services that was later licensed to Wells Fargo Nikko Investment Advisors, BGI’s predecessor organization.

Prior to Barclays, Mr. Tint held management positions at Trust Company of the West, Wilshire Associates and Wells Fargo Investment Advisors. He started his career at Merrill Lynch as vice president and manager of investment performance analysis where he designed a product to evaluate investment manager performance. The product was successfully sold to some 800 institutional clients.

Mr. Tint is on the board of managers and head of the investment committee of Haverford College; on the board of advisors of the Drucker – Ito School of Management, Claremont University; on the board of advisors, Financial Content, Inc.; a former member of the Editorial Advisory Board, Morgan Stanley Capital International and advisory board member of the Institutional Investor Institute.

Mr. Tint holds a B.A. in economics from Haverford College and an MBA in finance operations research from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He co-authored with William F. Sharpe the article, “Liabilities – A New Approach”, that appeared in the Journal of Portfolio Management, Winter, 1990.
