Michael F. Hope

Mr. Hope brings a highly distinguished career in global business and enterprise management to Pacific Enterprise Capital. He advises the company on matters pertaining to post-funded portfolio company management. This includes recommendations for implementing effective company management platforms, installation of internationally recognized accounting and internal control procedures and setting “best practice” corporate governance guidelines.

Mr. Hope is currently the Dean’s Executive Professor of Management at Santa Clara University. He retired as a Senior Partner with Accenture in April, 2000 after 27 years with the firm. During his career he held senior management positions including global managing partner responsible for utility financial performance and enterprise business solutions. From 1990 to 1994 Mr. Hope was managing partner for the company’s utilities practice in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India. He also worked with utilities in Canada, the United States and Brazil. In Europe, he advised utilities in the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, France, Italy Czech Republic and Slovak Republic on implementing successful change strategies. Utilities in these countries were experiencing significant market challenges driven by increased customer service expectations, growing competition and rapidly changing regulatory environments.

Mr. Hope was a member of Accenture’s Worldwide Strategy Council that set direction for the company’s global practice. He has been a frequent speaker on utility industry structure and business issues. Mr. Hope has advised numerous client companies on the development of financial and management information processes. He experience with clients across business lines includes banking, high technology, healthcare and manufacturing.

Mr. Hope serves on the Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business Advisory Board (Chair from 1998 – 2001), the university’s technology committee and the school’s campaign leadership committee. He is on the advisory board of three high tech companies and is co-owner and CFO of a small business in Seattle, Washington. Mr. Hope received a BSC in accounting from Santa Clara University in 1973. He is a California CPA with the status of retired from public practice.
